Past guest have included former Mayor, Sheila Dixon, one of the nation’s most highly respected lawyers William Murphy and State’s Attorney Maryland Mosby. It also provides an opportunity for attendees to share their thoughts and opinions. Through Wine and Conversation the foundation supports the intellectual exchange of ideas.

Scholarships

In order to stress the importance of higher education for young men in the community, The Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in conjunction with the Zeta Sigma Foundation, Inc. awards three (3) one-time scholarships to young men that exhibit academic achievement, leadership qualities and community involvement. Each year the candidates submit an application which includes a summary of achievements and an essay based on a topic that effects the community.

Zeta Sigma Annual Block Party

The Zeta Sigma Foundation Inc. Block Party is an event geared towards community involvement, culture awareness, education and positive interaction with the youth of Baltimore city. Community and Civic Leaders will have the opportunity to speak directly to their constituents regarding upcoming events that affect the Greenmount and Waverly Community. Neighborhood associations, local churches, and nonprofits will have direct access to the children, parents and citizens who live in the Greenmount area to provide value added resources to the people. The Zeta Sigma Foundation Inc. will have vendor tables set up to provide information on various programs and resources for residents such as health screening, back to school supplies, voter registration and financial literacy for the community. Children will be excited to have fun in our moon bounce and face painting stations along with other arts and craft activities. The communities will fellowship together listening to music and eating together as a neighborhood and family. The Zeta Sigma Foundation believes that a holistic approach to dealing with children and people are needed now more than ever in these difficult times. The Block Party is our answer to bringing the city back together as a family.
